There's nothing unmanly about taking care of your natural protection against the elements.

Humans originally evolved in temperate and tropical climates. Meaning, we tend to not be that well designed to face the extreme conditions of high latitude environments. Even those of us with (literally) thicker skins and more oily beards due to over a thousand years spent in Nordic countries, are still no match to the extreme conditions of our neck of the wood.

When we are in a high latitude (and inherently extreme) environment, we are exposed to extremely dry and cold conditions. Moreover, water used for hygiene is not softened or treated, so we are exposed to various sediments as well as sometimes high metal contents. To make matters worse, we tend to use a basic soap (because we are men and because you don't want to attract bears) with no fancy and exotic additives to moisture our beard.

The result is that hair in our beards dries and breaks. Beard also gets entangled and becomes impossible to comb. This is a problem... As the damage on our beard defies its very purpose, that is, to protect us against the elements. Further, not being able to comb our beard opens the door to parasites when in a wilderness environments (yes, even when it's cold). Vikings would deal with it using sheep wool oil (yes we did like our sheep). Because, yeah, this is the very stuff that allows our Icelandic sheep to survive in any environment.

This is still what we are using... Our beard oil was developed originally for our own use as we couldn't find anything with animal ingredients (the horror) such as sheep wool oil, or anything that didn't smell, well, gay (not to mention a bear attractant).

So, we made a beard oil that contains a base of Icelandic Sheep wool oil (the best natural thing that protect sheep, and that have protected Viking beards for centuries), as well as another proprietary oil present in Scandinavia. Scent is based on the boreal forest, has many therapeutic property, and doesn't smell gay nor does it attract animals. The signature Yggdrasil scent also completely offset the inherent natural sheep smell. We don't use any of the crap other companies put in their beard oil (jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil, floral or cinnamon scents, and who knows what else), we don't use any artificial scents, or any scent that can turn you into a meal.

In other words, our beard oil isn't cosmetic. It is practical. For men who actually spend time in the bush, in the wilderness, in the Arctic, and in the mountains.
